  • Guh. It’s not even 3am and the birds are singing. Did I ever mention that birds singing at night drives me UP THE SODDING WALL? #
  • Seriously, fuck birds, fuck summer, fuck light pollution and fuck anything else that causes this to happen. This year I’m buying earplugs. #
  • @bubbles_ I got confirmation that they received my app! That’s as far as it’s gone, and it took hours to arrive, but first hurdle down ;-) #
  • After months slagging off Reading, the lineup includes Radiohead. Now I might have to get day tickets on the cheap nearer the time… #
  • Leaving the house to attend Wired UK Launch Party. If you’re going too, I’m the one who looks conspicuously like he shouldn’t be there. #
  • At wired party, watching @warrenellis twitter. #
  • Everyone at this table is tweeting so i am too! #
  • As predicted, team comics has annexed a corner and is sticking to it! #
  • Wired party was excellent fun, even though Lee Adama was a no-show. Don’t tell anyone, but @warrenellis is actually very amiable. #
  • @herdivineshadow It is tempting, isn’t it? I think we’re going to try our luck and attempt purchase of a cheap day ticket nearer the time. #

  • It occurs to me that I never got a copy of Dirge’s Lenore #13, and #14 is out soon! Might wait for the trade. Should be out around 2012? #
  • Last night I had tonnes of insightful things I knew I should tweet when I woke up. Now I’ve forgotten them all. #
  • So instead I’m going to say: Reading tickets out today. Although I’ve forsaken the oversubscribed twatfest after last year, I’ll miss going. #
  • Last night I iPlayered Newsnight Review, but fell asleep during the discussion of Atlas Shrugged/Vince Cable’s book. Defense mechanism? #
  • Applied for HIGNFY tickets. I had to sacrifice a goat and perform some chanting. It’s just that popular. #

  • Just read Dark Knight Returns for the first time. Not sure what to make of it. It’s very…Frank Miller… but maybe not very Batman. #
  • Also re-read Origin yesterday. The gamble of telling that story sure paid off. Would recommend it to non-comics readers over DKR, at least. #
  • Now to do some comic reviews. Must delay “Sword of the Braddocks” review though, because right now I find that comic beyond comprehension. #

  • @sarahdobbs You should try Fentimans Curiosity Cola. It’s like Pepsi Raw, only far superior. (see my Jan 9 tweet: http://tinyurl.com/c3vz3b) #
  • I am Spartacus recording was excellent. 6 people doing the show, I knew & love them all (REDD PEPPER!) and it was mostly hilarious to boot. #
  • Also, when it was over, @AdamBuxton1 got us all to record a “Just coming!” for what I believe is a “Stephen!” soundbyte on the A&J show. WIN #
  • Rest of the panel: Jon Holmes, Will Smith, Emma Kennedy & Andrew Collins. Do Radio 2 have more money than R4 or was this just luck? #
  • For those keeping track, I used HMV voucher to buy…comics! Finally have my own copies of Origin and Dark Knight Returns. #
  • Not exactly high art I admit, but Origin has young weakling Wolverine going round in a blouse in the 1800s. It’s too funny not to own. #
  • @McKelvie Bah. Combination of no money and lots of deadlines means I shan’t be going to Thing at all. Consider yourself lucky :-( #

  • Top 5 Blur songs: For Tomorrow, The Universal, Coffee & TV, Out of Time, Popscene (via @sebpatrick) #
  • @sebpatrick You probably should’ve made a hash tag for this, y’know? #
  • @marcellerby I like their early crap more than their later crap, but the bit in the middle is the best. #
  • @sarahdobbs Oddly, I just now asked Twitter if they’d bump the moron impersonating dead F1 driver James Hunt so I could have the username :D #
  • @RobHunt “We will deliver the invoice by the end of the financial quarter” “SWEET AS A NUT MATE” (PS: Listen to Sway if you haven’t.) #

  • I can’t help but feel that OnLive’s PR department is better than its product. #
  • @madmarvelgirl Yes! It was so good that if they took Tan off art, I wouldn’t complain about the price anymore ;-) #
  • Just chased a bee out the kitchen. Western civilisation is centuries old, why haven’t we eradicated bees? The Romans managed to by AD 40. #
  • @McKelvie I have that noticed outside London the sky goes black at night, instead of the more typical orange. Scientists should investigate. #
  • @cnevett Quite. He’s definitely improving, but there’s no way he was ready for a book like New Avengers. #
  • @AdamBuxton1 We have tickets to I’m Spartacus recording tomorrow, and intend to use them. Can you tell us who the panellists are please? :D #
  • This week’s Question Time has taught me that Michael Winner is at least as insane as I always thought. Possibly more so. #

  • Thought my monitor was dying, but the input was just loose. Pity, that would’ve let me justify a new 22″ LCD. Am I the last CRT user alive? #
  • I am beginning to suspect the whole concept of a “post office” was invented purely to test the limits of human patience. #

  • @ everyone who complains about Stewart Lee repeating lines too often and stretching jokes too long: Please understand: THAT’S THE POINT. #

  • Stewart Lee is a fucking genius. I can’t believe he did that routine while *ON* TV. Other stand-up comics must weep at their own inadequacy. #

  • Sanitywatch has ended now that I’m no longer isolated from all human contact. Twittering help keep me sane, and I even got to ride a moose. #
