Diary of an up and coming sociopath

Wow, June already. I found out the other day that my final exam, the only one this term, is on the 22nd. Only 3 weeks to go and then it’s all over. I’m not feeling especially reflective, though, talk to me again after the results are in and I might be a little less tentative about the damn thing.

By way of celebrating the simple fact of impending degree-completion, I’m skipping tomorrow’s lectures to go to London and see the Pixies. Okay, well, it’s not exactly because of completing the degree, but I don’t have enough money to actually do anything after the fact, so I’ll consider this the reward to myself. I may have indicated that was happening today, but the truth is, I was incorrect. I got my dates mixed up - there is no Tuesday the 2nd of June. It’s a good job I remembered to check the ticket at some point, really. As far as I’ve been able to glean from the internet, the Delays are supporting, which I’m pretty ambivalent about. I mean, it could’ve been someone better, it could’ve been someone much worse. At least I’ll know the songs, if it is, which tends to help the crappy support bands fly by. More on this when I get in tomorrow, though.

I’ve spent the last week saturing myself with Pixies songs, anyway. I feel I’m pretty familiar with anything they’re likely to play, and anyone who knows me will know that’s how I like to be at gigs. Prepared. I’m also hoping to buy myself a nice T-Shirt, though I can’t help feel they’ll be out of my price range.

Besides anticipating this decade-defining event, I’ve spent the last couple of days, well, watching cartoons and stuff. Can’t really be more descriptive than that. We did go to Tescos today, but then, what days don’t we go? I breifly considered having a wander around the dodgy bank-holiday fair in South Park, but it rained so I stayed in and read comics, and I consider that a far more rewarding experience.

Well, enough of this holding pattern. Tomorrow’s the main event, so I’ll just direct my energies towards some website production, then sleep. Redesign of the site was somewhat slowed once I finished the PHP programming for it and finalised the design, since I then had to start coming up with content and I’m far less motivated to do that bit. I’ll get around to doing that web design update this week though, since I have a lot of uninteresting things to gloat/whine about from a technical perspective.
